The community outreach ministry of Northpark Church is known as SERVOLUTION simply because that is what we want to do – start a revolution of service in our city. Within the Northpark family, serving God and others takes priority. We have been called to share the love of Jesus with this city, and SERVOLUTION is our way of meeting the needs in our community and beyond. Our vision is to facilitate opportunities for circumstances and lives to be changed by God’s incredible provision.
CURRENT SERVOLUTION OPPORTUNITIES
Presents of Peace
Northpark is excited to team up again this year with the local YMCA for a Christmas Community Outreach project called Presents of Peace.
Presents of Peace is an event that allows families, who have been identified in our community as in need of assistance around the holidays, to come in and shop for items for their kids and loved ones. All items are marked at a 90% discount. Allowing the items to be purchased instead of just being received for free gives the families the dignity that comes with being able to buy and choose those items themselves.
Volunteers the day of the event help families to shop for needed/wanted items, gift wrap them, and then get items to their car. It’s a great experience and an incredible way to give back!
TWO WAYS TO GET INVOLVED:
Deadline for donations at Northpark is Wed, Dec 7th. (We are also asking everyone to bring an item or more from the list of things below to the Northpark Christmas Party on Sun, Dec 4th)
This year, the Y is providing gift baskets (actually laundry baskets) full of basic household needs to each family that comes through the event, and these items are needed to help fill the baskets:
• Toothpaste (kids & adult)
• Toothbrushes (kids & adult)
• Laundry detergent (liquid)
• Hand Soap (pump)
• Body wash / Bar soap
• Deodorant (men’s and women’s)
• Lysol spray / Lysol Wipes / All Purpose Spray
• Shampoo / Conditioner (all hair types)
Another big need is winter clothes for kids ages toddler to teenager:
They are also accepting gifts/toys like:
• art sets
• dolls/action figures/stuffed animals
On the day of the event (Sun, Dec 10 @ 1-3pm at AE Finley YMCA) volunteers are needed to help with check-in, personal shopping, gift wrapping, carrying items to cars, etc. You can sign up to volunteer at the event by visiting the Guest Services table at Northpark on Sunday mornings, or by emailing us and the address below!
Want to volunteer for the Presents of Peace event at the A.E. Finley YMCA
on Sunday, December 10 from 1:00-3:00pm?
You can! Simply email us a INFO@DISCOVERNORTHPARK.COM or sign up at the Guest Services table any Sunday or Wednesday at Northpark.
The Northpark family is doing a BIG collection all throughout the year to help stock the new local food pantry! Check out the list below of items needed.
Bring in any item(s) from this list on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights, now through the end of September. We will do other collections and volunteer events throughout the year for the pantry, but we want to do one big push as it launches in the coming weeks!
Big thanks to Northparker Mrs. Lottie Moore who had the dream in her heart to meet a need in our city that she has witnessed time and time again, and that passion to find a solution and see it through!
